Background Info: Sue Monk Kidd

So you know that the author of the Secret Life of Bees is Sue Monk Kidd.  But how much do you really know about her?  Well, here's what she looks like:

She was born and raised in rural Georgia. Thoreau's Walden and her own fathers story-telling were major influences in her future writing, not to mention convinced her that it was the career she wanted from an early age. In 1970 Kidd majored in nursing at Texas Christian University.  In her twenties she worked as a nurse.  She has two children with her husband, Sandy Kidd.
